MetaData and Languages

The Metadata and Languages Laboratory (MEDAL) is part of the Kno.e.sis Center in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Wright State University. Our primary research and development focus is the effective and efficient ways of dealing with data, metadata and languages (specifically, with extraction, retrieval, representation, querying, and reasoning with semi-structured data). As such, we have employed and explored principles, techniques and tools from the overlapping areas of

  • Information Extraction, Retrieval and Management
  • Semantic Web : Knowledge Representation and Reasoning
  • Programming Languages : Design and Implementation

Please see the "Research" section of this website, and for more recent work, Kno.e.sis project pages for details.
