About Me

Currently, I am a research assistant at the Kno.e.sis Ohio Center of Excellence in Knowledge-enabled Computing in Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio. I am advised by Prof. Amit P. Sheth - - Lexis Nexis Ohio eminent scholar and Director of Kno.e.sis. I work as a part of Knowledge Graph, Natural language processing, Data Mining, and Deep Learning research team. My research solves problems in Biomedical and Clinical Natural Language Text.

Current Projects

1. Medical Informatics for Decision and Support (MIDAS): The central idea of the project is to use clinical and biomedical information in UMLS, BKR, and PubMed to create a healthcare knowledge base which can help in classifying disease related to Musculoskeletal and can be leveraged for semantically understanding the forums and twitter data.
2. Alchemy of Healthcare: The centric idea of the project is to create a platform that caters the need of other in-house projects like edrugtrends and depression. The project involves concrete implementation of various NLP tasks and Recurrent Neural Network together with domain specific knowledge graph creation for providing relevant information for drug trends and depression.

Description : During my period as graduate teaching and research assistant at Delhi Technological University, I gained strong understanding in the development of Software Requirement Specification, Software Design Documents and principles of software quality assurance. My thesis on Test Suite Prioritization and Optimization using Meta-Heuristic Algorithms focussed in solving some hard problems in software engineering using machine learning principles (such as Test Suite Optimization). Our approach provided sufficient improvement in software testing cycle by reducing time consumption and increasing code coverage of software.
Technologies Involved : JSP-Servlet Programming and MATLAB. All the machine learning and meta-heuristic algorithms development and testing were performed in MATLAB.

I was a summer school student at NUS School of Computing working on data mining and computational biology. My research work involves application of data mining techniques to solve mining problem in neuroscience. One such application of data mining is graphical analysis of neural network in the brain, that evolves in time.

Iwas a research intern at DTRL (Defense Terrain Research Laboratory) at DRDO Delhi. I worked on application of Image processing and Intelligence on Remote Sensed satellite images. The work was carried out under the guidance of Dr. V.K Panchal, Associate Director DTRL. The work aimed at applying various machine learning techniques and Nature inspired algorithm to improve data extraction from images and processing of images. The tools which I used were ERADUS and Arc-GIS. The project which I carried out are listed below (titles):

Embarking on a research and developmental career certainly requires perseverance as well as the willingness to do whatever it takes to solve a problem. For me the motivation to carry out research and implemental exploration comes from the curiosity to discover how far I can push myself. Because of the satisfaction that I feel from doing a job well, I give my best in the work that I do, as evident from my academic record as well.
